Admissibility University Athletic Funds

1. Recruitment Bursaries

     Bursaries Amount:       $6,000 bursaries over a three-year period
                                    Bursaries of $3,000 or $2,000 for one year

For student-athletes who has just graduated from colleges and who wants to enroll in an university club or team which is part of the Quebec and/or Canadian university network.

Objective

To recruit our best student-athletes graduating from colleges and consequently favour the development of Quebec university athletics. 

Admissibility criteria

Be officially enrolled as a full-time student in September 2005 or January 2006, in a university belonging to the Quebec university network which is part of the Quebec and/or Canadian university network; be a first-year full-time student in September 2005 and/or January 2006; be born in Quebec or have been a Quebec resident for the last two (2) years; be enrolled in an university club or team which is part of the Quebec and/or Canadian university network.

2. Athletic Excellence Bursaries

     Bursary Amount:        Bursaries of $1,500 (finalists)
                                   Bursaries of $2,000 (winners)

For student-athletes belonging to a Univesity club or team in a sport included in the Quebec and/or Canadian University sports network (one team sports category, one individual sports category).

Objective

Encourage a student-athlete affiliated with a Quebec university club or team and who shows outstanding performance in the 2004-2005 season (September 1st to August 31st).

Eligibility criteria

Be a full-time student at a Quebec University involved in the Quebec and/or Canadian university sports network, and have successfully completed a minimum of 12 credits in the 2004-2005 season; belong to a University club that is a part of the Quebec and/or Canadian university sports network; have achieved impressive athletic results during the 2004-2005 season.

3. Scholarships for the pursuit of Academic Excellence

     Bursary Amount:        Bursaries of $1,500 (finalists)
                                   Bursaries of $2,000 (winners)

For student-athletes affiliated with a University club in a sport included in the Quebec and/or Canadian University sports network.

Objective

Encourage a student-athlete who belongs to a Quebec and/or Canadian University club and who has achieved impressive academic and athletic results.

Eligibility criteria

Be a full-time student in a Quebec University and have successfully completed a minimum of 24 credits at a Quebec University in the 2004-2005 season (September 1st to August 31st); belong to a University club that is a part of the Qeubec and/or Canadian University sports network; have achieved impressive academic and athletic results during the 2004-2005 season; sixty percent (60%) weighting is given to academic resultats and forty percent (40%) to athletic performance. 

4.       Leadership Bursaries

     Bursary Amount:        Bursaries of $1,500 (finalists)
                                   Bursaries of $2,000 (winners)          

For student-athletes belonging to a University club in a sport included in the Quebec and/or Canadian University network and who distinguished themselves by their Community commitment and by capacity to assume leadership in their entourage.

Objective

Encourage a student-athlete who belongs to a Quebec and/or Canadian University club, who has excelled in the 2004-2005 season (September 1st to August 31st) and who has played a leadership role in his or her community while obtaining good athletic and academic results.

Eligibility criteria

Be a full-time student at a Quebec University involved in the Quebec and/or Canadian University sports network, and have successfully completed a minimum of one session (12 credits) in the 2004-2005 season; belong to a University club that is a part of the Quebec and/or Canadian University sports network, have acheived good academic and athletic results during the 2004-2005 season; have distinguished himself or herself by commitment within the community; have demonstrated capacity for leadership, more particularly the ability to lead and to motivate others.
